PIKITEORA - Remember this name... she's going to be a household name and you can be the first to see her humble beginnings on a Realty TV Show on Maori Television this Friday 26th September 8.30pm!!

Okay I am slightly biased as she is my cousin - but I have been playing and singing myself the Auckland entertainment circuit for over 10 years and heard a lot of good vocalists, including our own wonderful Sky City performers such as Leon and Taisha - HOWEVER...

here's the point of difference... Pikiteora is writing her own originals and really great stuff which I believe will not only take NZ but also the world platform.

I had an opportunity to hear her perform when she and her band 'Phatmatics' gave freely of their time at a local Rugby League Social.

She performed four of her own originals in amongst an hour set which included numbers like Randy Crawford's 'Need Somebody' and Jill Scott's 'Golden'. Her originals, including a Reggae, an R&B, and a dynamic Modern Swing number (much like Basement Jaxx) Her original numbers blended so well with the covers that I didn't realize they were even originals! That in itself told me that her writing is going to be marketable on a World platform.

Pikiteora will be performing a covers song (it's a karaoke competition) and this is the Grand Final.

You'll see what I mean about her performance - she's got the X-Factor!

But just wait till you hear her originals. She's going to go a long way whether she wins this competitionor not, but you can help her on her way by texting your vote if you feel she deserves it.
