hey kainos, love the new stuff! sound very NWOBHM influenced which i totally dig. i know tom and daniel. tom was saying the other day that you guys were'nt happy with the mixing that was done in the states and are sending it back or something along those lines, whats up with that?

Yeah it was actually the mastering that we got done in the states but we're all happy now. Got it back again and it was nice and sweet.
We're trying for the Iron Maiden support but who knows... They might end up picking some incredibly unsuitable band just to be trendy.

Well.. first NZ comparison that came to mind. Of that fist-banging oldschool trad-metal vibe.

I'm glad somebody's doing this. Most metal dudes are so wrapped up in being "brutal", it's refreshing to have some fun rockin metal, y'know.

Ah now I get ya.
I'm not all too familiar with Knightshade, only a few tracks I remember hearing.
And I think thats true.
There's a plethora of modern brutal metal bands. And after a while it gets a bit stale IMO. The brutal contest can get a bit boring... My growls more brutal than your growl and my double kicking is faster than your double kicking kinda stuff hahah. I like having some musicality now and then. Not to say that those bands don't have any...
But fuck, its all good so whatever! I think the diversity within metal totally contradicts the concept of it being a narrow minded genre... Such as the heaviest of heavy side to the lighter more fun side.
Man I'm babbling bullshit... I need sleep.
And back to the point, thanks King for listening and your feedback.

Yeah I've gotta have contrast in my metal collection. I like my brutal stuff but I was raised on Maiden, Priest, Sabbath and Deep Purple so I always need a good regular dose of classic stuff.

This obsession with blast beats is getting tired real quick with me. It's all about BPM and finding the most economical way of drumming like that... the result ends up sounding like a goodamn typewriter, totally devoid of any heavyness and not coming off any more brutal for it either.

And most growlers are dime-a-dozen. Half of them sing through their fist into the mic, and any pale dude in a white singlet and a studded wristband can do that

Completely agree with you.
It always makes me wonder when you meet 'metaller's who don't even appreciate the classics!
It still amazes me how heavy good old Sabbath is!
I think the mood of heavy gets replaced by technicality by a lot of bands these days.

i totally agree, i mean i'm a metal head and love the "heavy" stuff but also totally dig the old stuff. i know people that only listen to their trendy american roadrunner type bands and have never listened to were it all came from (or want to get into it). the classics are important! zepplin, sabbath, pink floyd, hendrix, alice cooper i could go on and on.

There has been nothing as heavy as Sabbath, in my humble opinion.

Toni Iommi single handedly (minus bits of his fingers, too!) invented fat, fuzzy, downtuned, crushing riffs.

The thing I love about metal, is I have all the colours of the rainbow in all the genres. From my Deep Purple CD's to my Satyricon CD's... it's aaaaall gravy.

Tony Iommi's got Satan leaking through the bone marrow in his fingers, thus after the tips gettin' cut off... Satan was unleashed! Hahah.
Heaven and Hell was by far one of the greatest gigs/times of my life. Dio and Iommi served up a more brutal sound than any Oscar the Grouch skinhead or 399bpm drop C chug could ever do in my opinion...

But onwards...

Yes definitely keep you guys updated!
Leading into the new year until around Feb we are finishing the rest of the album. It's time consuming because we're doing it as cheap as we can without sacrificing quality... Which at the end of the day just equals a longer period of time than usual to get the end result. But we're happy with these four so the next 8 are even more exciting. There's some tracks in there that I think will turn some heads. And if they don't, then we're fuckin' outta here! Hahahah.

We loved our time down South last year so we'll definitely be doing some shows down that way. But I would think that it wouldn't be until mid next year at least before we got ourselves fully organised for a tour to support the album.
But I'll let ya know mate.

Cheers guys for the support. It's hard to come by in this country... Unless of course your the Naked and Famous. Which to me sounds like a Nintendo plugged into a PA. But its trendy and what NZONAIR says you should like... And so people do. Go figure.
