should 8 foot sativa change their name?
Posted: Thu Dec 11, 2008 11:32 pm
(this site needs polls for these sorta questions i rekn)

Yesterday afternoon i overheard some mates talking and it got me wondering. From what ive heard, Gary Smith might not like the idea but at the end of the day, at the moment theyre just living off the name, if 8 foot sativa go on gigs titled "8 foot sativa" the people would be illusioned by the false idea of 8 foot sativa the "once was" band is performing but you end up being shown to by a completly new band with only Gary Smith as the only original member left, (in fact at the motorhead concert in New Plymouth a while back they didnt even have Gary Smith for the show) they even had the drummer recently changed this year, but yet theyre still thought of as 8 foot sativa when theyre just really when you think about it theyre just "living off the name" right now.

Just came to see other peoples opinion about this.

...They should rename to "BuZiller" lol

tidsy you should look at the "now playing" thread coz we have been discussing this very topic for sevral days now.

IMO 8ft hasn't been 8ft since season for assult. went from 8 foot sativa to sinate foot sativa to the now ulcerate foot sativa if you know what i mean. thats not to say that they arnt making decent music but the type of music that the band is making is vastly different then when they started (and what gained the band it's success). the argument would be "would you rather have the new version of 8 ft or no 8 ft at all?"

In my opinion, it would have made more sense to re-brand completely before the last album came out, and paved new ground on the merits of the new sound/lineup.

But I'm sure Gary has his reasons. Haven't spoken to the guy since the last time I played with them, and that was New Year's Eve 06/07.

I've heard some funny ones.. obviously "Uceratefoot Sativa", but also "Sinatefoot Sativa", "Taint-foot Sativa". Laughing
