Hello, just found this website so i thought i'd post a message. Me and my missus are visiting Auckland for two weeks from May 5th so we need to find out the best places for bands/club night etc. I'm a music promoter in England (www.burndownthedisco.co.uk) so it'll be interesting to see how the NZ music scene compares to the UK scene. We're mainly into the UK Indie scene so any recommendations on what we should be checking out would be good. A band that have played and is playing my night soon toured the UK with NZ band The Checks a while back, they were called The Dodgems at the time and are from Sheffield, they all said The Checks were a top bunch of lads. That's about my total knowledge of NZ bands so it's your jobs to educate me.

Any advice will be greatfully accepted.

The Checks will be supporting The Killers @ Vector Arena on 8 April, otherwise you should check out these Auckland venues:
