Mass collaboration album celebrates independent musicians Posted: Mon May 6, 2013 9:03 pm Operation Underground is a New Zealand music project, set out to record & release 26 brand new original songs with a different vocalist singing on each one. The songs are going into the studio in 3 months time and the confirmed line-up has just been announced... Adam Mcgrath (The Eastern), Matt Langley, Julian Temple, Lissel Stewart (Oval Office), Paul Cathro (Alizarin Lizard), Elena Berg (Girl On Girl Action), Sam McKean (Made In China), Tom Batchelor & Michael Morris (The River Jesters) alongside over 20 more artists (see website for official poster & info). It's an exciting time, even in the preparation stage - just knowing that this project is going to result in so many independent legends featuring alongside one-another on one single, epic collection of unheard songs. With plans to track the entire process for a documentary series & the drive to push local music, Operation Underground is promising to be a healthy contributor to the already flourishing NZ independent music family. We would love to hear from you! This is something for everybody to get excited about and enjoy the fruits of, so drop us a line & get involved.
