I believe DJ's are musicians because they make music, they also make original beats and not all the time do they take pieces from other artists....

A real musician is someone who writes his/her own music, and not rip it off/steal/remake other musician's work.

A real musician is someone who can pick up an instrument and play his own composition and not make it using a computer and play it back.

Therefore DJ's are nothing but shit.

It depends on what sort of DJ you are talking about...

There are DJs out there that do take other peoples music and remix it - Sample Gee (Lagered) and DJ Sir-Vere (Major Flavours) are examples.

There are also DJs who create their own music, from scratch. A lot of the time, these DJs also write the lyrics (although sometimes basic and few) to go with that music. I'd like to think that the effort a DJ goes through to create music is no different to the effort a rock guitarist or classical pianist go through to create their music. Therefore, aren't these DJ's real musicians?

I'll leave the rest of this 'debate' up to you guys...
