RE: DJ's are not muscicians! Posted: Mon Jan 10, 2005 11:42 pm I believe DJ's are musicians because they make music, they also make original beats and not all the time do they take pieces from other artists.... |

RE: DJ's are not muscicians! Posted: Tue Jan 11, 2005 6:32 pm A real musician is someone who writes his/her own music, and not rip it off/steal/remake other musician's work. A real musician is someone who can pick up an instrument and play his own composition and not make it using a computer and play it back. Therefore DJ's are nothing but shit. RE: DJ's are not muscicians! Posted: Tue Jan 11, 2005 7:08 pm It depends on what sort of DJ you are talking about... There are DJs out there that do take other peoples music and remix it - Sample Gee (Lagered) and DJ Sir-Vere (Major Flavours) are examples. There are also DJs who create their own music, from scratch. A lot of the time, these DJs also write the lyrics (although sometimes basic and few) to go with that music. I'd like to think that the effort a DJ goes through to create music is no different to the effort a rock guitarist or classical pianist go through to create their music. Therefore, aren't these DJ's real musicians? I'll leave the rest of this 'debate' up to you guys... |
