Live Music in NZ Posted: Thu Oct 6, 2016 5:28 pm I am thinking of travelling throughout the country and I would love to find some great pubs/bars with live music. It would be great if I didn't have to walk around the city looking into each bar to find it... can anybody help me out and give some suggestions? RE: Live Music in NZ Posted: Thu Oct 6, 2016 8:09 pm Hi Adam, I'm based in the Waikato and promote music and entertainment mainly electronic music in Hamilton, raglan and now Te Awamutu. If your after bands and musicians, The Nivara lounge on Victoria St, Hamilton is always playing gigs, further down Victoria st is "The Meteor" that runs events and entertainment from bands to plays and theatre stuff. Keystone bar and restaurant also has bands playing on the Friday and Saturday's. If your after DJs and dancing , Static bar 5 hood st, "The Back bar" and "Wonderhorse bar" have all the best DJs in Hamilton and these bar and clubs are always packed with people. There is a new bar called "The Block Hamilton" is showcasing some big names such as "Smashproof" and "Che fu" the bar had only been open for a couple of months. The Yot bar in Raglan in the heart of the town always has something on, there's always an awesome vibe there, the owner also runs "ink bar" on Krd in Auckland. The Pioneer in Te Awamutu M.o.a promotions is running a monthly gig, first Friday of the month with bass heavy allsorts from House, trap, hip hop to dubstep, dnb and breakbeats. |

RE: Live Music in NZ Posted: Fri Oct 7, 2016 9:52 am If you're coming through Tauranga and the Mount, the go to place for excellent live music is the TOTARA STREET... situated on Totara Steet, the Mount, behind the Mauao Performing Arts School. This is one of NZ's top medium sized venues, geared up entirely for live concerts. Not an afterthought, like some bars and pub venues. Truly amazing venue with top class acts performing most fridays and saturdays |
