First of all its Pacifier, not Pacifire. Like a baby's pacifier.

I think the reason they changed it was because they went to the states to promote themselves, but were afraid people would look down on them cause their name Was shihad, which is close to Jihad, meaning holy war in iraq. We all know how the US feels about iraq, plus this was shortly after sept 11.

Im not totally sure why they changes it to Pacifier, but i'm guessing it's because one of the most well known songs is 'pacifier', and one of my favourites i might add. But there may be another reason, i dont know.

shihad is better.

pacifier is like an average joe's band name but shihad seems a bit different.

How they got pacifier was by the name of one of their songs - yes, and then when you look at it 'pacific' from the beginning of 'Pacifier' meaning where they came from i.e new zealand, and fire (but in this case 'fier') which was the strength that the band had... it meant something like that anyways.

I like Shihad better, its just a more kick ass name.
