Phil Fuemana is Dead..anyone care?

How come I haven't seen or read anything about this on either this website or www.bands.co.nz? I got my information from a small article in the NZ Herald yesterday.

Are people downplaying the impact this guy had on NZ music? If it wasn't for OMC or Dawn Raid this country would be screwed!

Just thought I'd mention that Phil Fuemana established Urban Pacifika Records, not Dawn Raid.

Anyway, the reason for the lack of coverage: Basically we draw our news from other news sources and if none of them have anything on it then we don't report it.

I think people do care, it's just at the moment the news media is more interested in talking about Te Wananga and kiddie porn.

My bad about Dawn Raid. I guess people were right when they said that Michael Jacksons trial would be the background of our lives for the next 6 months. Just a shame man, a real shame.

I remember when Nas Kama (Mercenaries) died at Muriwai. Having known Nas personally I was outraged that the Herald had a small article about it, 80% of which was a public service announcement about the dangers of swimming at west coast beaches in Auckland. I'm sure Nas and his family and friends would have wanted to have him remembered as more than just a warning.

No worries. Glad to help in any way I can. I'm not a huge fan of hip hop or NZ hip hop in general but I believe in "credit due where credit is deserved".
