SOUND PROOFING A GARAGE?

hey guys
me and my band are getting bad feedback from neighbours!
could someone please tell me what stuff is the best to stop sound from escaping a garage , and pissing off neighbours?
how much also would it cost?
it would be sweet if someone could help me out with this!!

I think matresses filter out the sound, and egg cartons, the sound waves like bend through the curves and gets seperated, becoming quieter . the more the egg cartons the less the sound. I'm not totally sure though, read other peoples posts.

Or you could get sound proof walls..but that costs

basically anythign with lots of small cavities inside. i.e. foam, carpet, etc. becaus the sound waves defract off all the funny angles inside the air bubbles and dissipate.

so cardboard, foam (denser=better i THINK) mattresses, bla bla bla.

i heard pillows work...awh i dunno. But you might get some tips watching School Of Rock, see how the kids soundproof their room Blue Razz
heh, or it could be just another excuse to watch a good movie Wink

i heard if you cover the walls with blankets it soundproofs it. never tried that though

If you have a bit of money to spare, you could buy some sound proofed pink bats (they're coloured blue) - that would do the job.

Otherwise, anything like blankets, pillows or foam mattresses will quiet things down a bit.

i have some foam, also sand will do the trick, dont use egg cartons!!!

I LIVE IN AUCKLAND, IF YOU LIKE SOME FOAM...!!! OR ANYBODY ELSE.. Wink
