RE: Your first gig, memory of the rock Posted: Wed Apr 13, 2005 1:08 pm Quote:Well for a start, I wasn't arguing that having chops denies feel. If anything, chops can make the feeling more accessible.Secondly, just because I made a band and 5 songs in a week and then played at the KA doesn't mean I'm a crap musician or an embarrassment to music. YOU are an embarrassment to music. You are making people's freedom of expression, or in this case, the all-singing all-dancing by-product of marijuana and boredom, a bad thing. Who the FUCK are you to say what is good or not? Sure, you can say what you think is good or bad but wake up sunshine, we are all different. Cynic was there, you have no chops. you are a crap musician you joined Jonny and the Robba, that is embarrassment enough. I am not a musician at best I am an embarrassment to trolldom but I am a very good troll. I am against your freedom of expression, nobody elses I am the cynic, that is who the fuck I am pussy clitch suck dogs balls you fuck off, I was here first dickbrain! |

RE: Your first gig, memory of the rock Posted: Wed Apr 13, 2005 1:25 pm Memories Memories .. Well i played in a band for a long time called Entropy. Kick ass band that never gigged .. legendary guitarist Paul Glen Jones, singer called Rory who could sing the pants off a nun, and bass player Steve, who ended up singing for down 2 one. Then played for Ubiquitous - didnt have any shocking gigs with them, it was pretty good. Played for Pawn after that - played one gig, then realised that noone was committed, and split. Started Epitome with two downy south africans, and a midget, who happen to be some of the best musicians i have performed with, and now have material on radio. The worst gig was the one with pawn. The worst one i have been to was .. umm .. Amber Waves. |

RE: Your first gig, memory of the rock Posted: Wed Apr 13, 2005 4:41 pm My first concert was a reggae show at the Catalyst in California. It was Eek A Mouse, though he was hard to make out through the thick pungent cloud of pot smoke. Seeing the Stones with Brian Jones must have been awesome! |

RE: Your first gig, memory of the rock Posted: Thu Apr 14, 2005 9:39 am I think it does either that or I'm the fat kid who has trampled his sand castle in the sand box. Makes a change I'm usually the one who gets drunk, scales the kindegarten gate and dumps in the sandbox |

RE: Your first gig, memory of the rock Posted: Thu Apr 14, 2005 10:49 pm cheers for the heads-up bro, maybe I'll try a blue one next time... A poo-poo head is a special name reserved for somebody who lacks the maturity to be called a shithead. Keep the trash-talk coming man, there's some brilliant work there... |

RE: Your first gig, memory of the rock Posted: Fri Apr 15, 2005 4:49 pm My first band, I was the drummer and the thing was that I couldn't actually play the drums at all well. I had tricked my band cohorts that my drumming was well up to standard. We played in my friend's record shop (where I lived at the time) and did covers of 'We are 138' by The Misfits, 'Youngblood' by Billy Childish and 'Joy' by No Means No. We were called 'The Mc Cabe Trio' needless to say we didn't last long, incidently my band 'Yeast' were the last EVER band to play 'Shake Some Action' (the same place my first band had played) before it got bulldozed in April of 2003, to make way for blocks of flats. How things turn out. R.I.P Shake |
