Where are all the drummers gone?

Hi

Seems like a lot of bands are looking for drummers? There seems to be a shortage of Drummers, why is that?

There is a massive shortage of drummers in Auckland, especially good drummers. Most drummers that I know are each in 2-3 bands.

Its pretty strange.

it's because people who want to be in bands are extraverts - they can imagine themselves out there playing guitar solos... but not sitting at the back behind the drum kit where no one will notice! That's a really broad generalisation. But don't you think that could be it?

yeah, i guess, people want to be in bands so they get noticed and get groupies these days more than to be in there for the music, that's the sad reality of music today. But i think drummers get recognized too, i mean, if youre good enough, you should be pretty well known

im having such a hard time finding a drummer for my new band that i may give up singing and get behind the kit
as for drummers i mainly recognise god drummers now
thats why at the moment im so into dying fetus
