Mended fingers pending, The White Stripes are to return to New Zealand in October.

Although official announcements have yet to be made, he band have today revealed tour dates for New Zealand and Australia on their website.

In stark contrast to the last time they were here, when they were still very much members of the 'underground', Jack and Meg White will play the St James in Auckland (October 7) and the Wellington Town Hall (October as chart-troubling, radio-friendly, gold-selling rock stars.

Current album Elephant has spent 16 weeks in the NZ albums chart, while the single Seven Nation Army peaked at #1 on the RadioScope Alternative Airplay Chart and #2 on the Rock Chart.
