Hi!

My name is Eli. By this point, I have played literally hundreds of gigs as an improvising and sight-reading pianist, all around New Zealand – and the globe! Funk, jazz, blues, folk, gypsy, opera…you name it and I have probably done it. I’ve written over forty songs that I’d really rate (as would a couple of competitions) and currently I’m doing all the writing and pre-production for my first album.

I can teach you the following things:

• Basic piano, musicianship and theory – sight-reading and improv
• How to get around lead sheets and chord symbols/charts
• Advanced contemporary genre studies, incl. jazz piano
• Songwriting craft and critical musical analysis and listening
• Self-accompaniment for singers and singer-songwriter-pianists
