Looking for bandmates for Folk Metal project - Hamilton Posted: Fri Jul 15, 2016 12:02 am Hello folks, I'm a singer/guitarist on the lookout for people keen on playing in a folk metal band. I'm in Hamilton, and I have been working on a project which I've named Ceolskog. Ceol means music in Irish Gaelic and skog means forest in Norwegian. I'm looking for a bassist, drummer, and second guitarist to share both lead and rhythm duties with me – 50/50 sort of thing. If you can sing (or growl) that's a bonus - I prefer to share vocal duties with another member. Just more interesting that way, and also makes maintaining one's voice easier! Maybe a keyboardist too, or even some sort of folk instrument player. But a usual four-piece would be fine. Not too bothered about age, say 18 – 50. If you have songwriting skills, great – always need new material! It's more fun to share creativity than doing it all on your own. In terms of sound, I've aimed to do a combination of Bathory, Thin Lizzy, Ensiferum and....well, The Proclaimers! Whether I've done so successfully is a matter of debate. Open to changing that direction depending on the people who join. I have songs about history, literature, folklore, adventure and so forth, but more than willing to expand in terms of subject matter. I've recorded a couple of EPs in my bedroom over the last nine months. Not got the greatest recording gear, my mixing and mastering skills are lacking at best, and the drums are from a cheap MIDI program, but it isn't horrible. https://ceolskog.bandcamp.com/album/made-in-my-bedroom https://ceolskog.bandcamp.com/album/made-in-my-bedroom-ii And here's a silly music video I made: https://youtu.be/UQCPkfRwlKc I don't have a rehearsal space nor do I know of any, but I'm sure we can work that part of it out. Well, we will need to I suppose, hahaha! Can't rehearse without a place to rehearse! Thanks for reading (if you did)! This message was edited by adamaxe on Fri Jul 15, 2016 12:10 am. |
