Looking for lead guitarist & bassist

Mollyhawk, an acoustic-driven, three piece, Auckland-based originals band, is looking to replace a bassist, as well as expand and redefine its sound with the addition of an electric guitarist.

Our previous bass player is leaving for greener pastures overseas and to replace him we’ll need an individual, who is highly proficient on this instrument, has an excellent ear, likes to set a groove that the band can sit on and is very inventive. Basically, we need a bloody good bass player.

As for the guitarist, we’re acoustic-based, but looking to create a bigger, more emotional sound through a lead electric guitar (plenty of pedals req.). Again we’re looking for someone very musical; someone that knows when to play and when to rest, and knows how to produce that big emotional sound.

The sound is a mixed bag of big, tight rock numbers, ballads, funk and more intricate pieces.

Influences include: U2, Dave Matthews, Incubus, Coldplay etc.

This is a serious band that is looking at doing an album later this year and touring on the back of the album through summer. Serious musicians need only apply.
