Singer looking for Rock/pop band

Hi everyone. Im 44 and live on the Hibiscus Coast, Whangaparaoa and wanting to join a working covers band or band that does originals and is serious about becoming known. Im realistic ive probably missed the fame boat but I am most interested in being a part of a covers band that does reasonably modern music and gigs often. Im keen on singing rock/pop songs from the last 20 years or so. I am finding because of my age that the bands I have tried out for want to sing older stuff and I am to young at heart for that. Ive been in bands before but nothing serious for a while. I would say I am a pretty decent singer and I can do lots of different styles and genres. That sounded cheesy as haha.
