Coke Fridge launches NZ’s largest selection of digital music downloads www.cokefridge.co.nz

Coke Fridge has just stepped it up with the launch of CokeTunes – New Zealand’s first major digital music download store.

With over 500,000 tracks from over 10,000 artists, Kiwis are now able to legally download music from a comprehensive roster of local and international artists from all of the major labels. For the first time in New Zealand, music from artists like Savage, Gwen Stefani, Black Eyed Peas, The Killers, INXS, The Bravery, Eminem, 50 Cent and Akon can be downloaded from the internet legally.

CokeTunes opens up a complete music experience, where users can check out free 30 second samples of tracks then browse the extensive catalogue before downloading their choices to their PC.

“Its great to be working with CokeTunes and I'm thrilled that for the first time in New Zealand, Universal Music's current hits and our extensive catalogue will be available to New Zealanders digitally. Most importantly our artists are now legally available online and as such this is an important milestone for the New Zealand music industry” said Adam Holt, Managing Director, Universal Music New Zealand.

CokeTunes offers a cost effective alternative for purchasing music. Tracks cost $1.75 per track, and albums start from $18. Streams cost 5c per track. Users purchase credit in the store and can then stream or download tracks using that credit.

To celebrate the launch, every time a customer buys a $30 credit they get an additional $30 absolutely free. Offer runs Aug 1 – Aug 31

Downloading is a simple 4 step process:

- Get online to www.cokefridge.co.nz
- Browse the store
- Get credit
- Download tracks

CokeTunes Music Fund

Coke is continuing to support the development of New Zealand musicians, donating their revenue from every track sold to the CokeTunes Music Fund that will make grants to young musicians on a quarterly basis. Bands can apply for this funding starting from November 2005. More information is available online at www.cokefridge.co.nz.

“New Zealanders love music and technology so providing them with the first major download site to offer such an extensive repertoire of music is a real buzz for Coke,” said spokesman Alison Sykora.

“The CokeTunes Music Fund will also allow us to give something back to the local music community and hopefully help emerging talent from around New Zealand. We hope Kiwis will get in behind CokeTunes to help support New Zealand music.”

Satellite Interactive, part of Satellite Media (producers of Top of the Pops, Rip It Up and Coke New Releases) has worked together with Coca-Cola to bring CokeTunes to life. CokeTunes is powered by LoudEye’s OD2 – the global leader in digital distribution of music with over 80 music download stores operating globally.

Coca-Cola customers can look forward to a massive promotion around the CokeTunes store coming in the next few months.
