Posted: Sun Sep 11, 2005 9:53 am
Radio One 91fm’s Real Groovy Morning Spectrum next week will feature a veritable feast of politics and music. From 10-11, Monday to Thursday, Radio One’s political whizz Kid, Sam Huggard, will be honing in on the election with interviews and opinions from all the top brass of the political scene. Then Sam’s back on Friday, 10 till 12, to do his usual roundup of the week’s politics, before he goes bonkas on Saturday night, election night, with an election special from 9pm till late.

As part of NZ Music Week, Radio One proudly presents a three part documentary series ‘Playtime: How cool is school’ on High Schools and Music. Station Manager Lesley Paris sent Programme Director James Gates back to school to check out the sounds and attitudes of music students and teachers at Dunedin High Schools. James investigates the importance of music in the school syllabus, the musical relationship between teachers and students, and the kind of music that the students are composing and performing. Listen in at 11.30am on the Real Groovy Morning Spectrum Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to find out why High School is cool!

‘Playtime: How Cool is School’ 11.30am Tues 13 – Thurs 15 September
Episode 1. “Music: The Great Escape?”
Episode 2. “Different Styles.”
Episode 3. “Teaching the Teachers.”

Also listen in to High School High every Sat 3pm-4pm where High School Kids are doin’ it for themselves on Radio One 91fm.
