Volunteers wanted @ Temple Bar & The Killing Room

Thanks to Temple Bar, Auckland for supplying us with this information.

Do you want to be involved in the music industry? If so, we are looking for some more voluntary people to help us out.

In particular:

Door people (collecting door charge)
Admin (talking to bands about gigs, database work etc)
Possibly the occasional bar support shift (clearing glasses, stocking fridges and training to serve customers)

Floss at The Killing Room is also keen for volunteers. The Killing Room is Auckland's best known practise room, and is frequently used by such acts as The Feelers, Stellar*, Anika Moa and up and coming bands as well. This is a great opportunity to learn about the music industry, get valuble contacts, learn about PA operation etc

We are also always keen for motivated people to take on the challenge of running their own night at Temple Bar. This is your opportunity to get more of the music happening that you are involved in and/or want to see more of.

For door people we will roster you on to a particular day on a fortnightly basis. It is normally from about 7 or 7:30pm until about 10 or 10:30pm. It involves greeting people, collecting door charge from them, ensuring they are over 18, not drunk and aren't bringing in alcohol. It's fun and a great opportunity to meet lots of interesting people. You will need to be 18 or over.

For admin people, again we would roster you on at a particular time and day on a weekly or fortnightly basis.

We really appreciate your help, we do ask however, that if you commit to this that you are reliable. If you are unable to commit but would still like to be involved, still contact the Temple Bar, and we will include you on our emergency list.
