RE: Resonate 2003 Posted: Fri Feb 14, 2003 4:12 pm Further Resonate 2003 Information, thanks to the NZMIC for this info.. Some of the UK's best creative talent will be in New Zealand in late February to share their knowledge and expertise with peers. World-class music industry leaders will direct a programme of seminars, public discussions and debates in Auckland from 26-28 February 2003. Resonate is an intensive three-day seminar series in music and the associated creative industries produced in partnership by the British Council New Zealand, Mai FM and the New Zealand Music Industry Commission. Individual programme components are provided with the support of several private and public music organisations including NZ On Air, York St Studios, Flying Fish and Fish n Clips. Guests include CEO of MTV Europe and ex-pat New Zealander, Brent Hansen, producer extraordinaire Greg Haver, and Mr Music Video UK, Pete Chambers. Also in the line-up is Stephen Budd, a leading manager of music's top talents and Liz Kessler, a video commissioner for Island Universal UK. Over three days a broad range of topics will be covered including the recording process, song writing, performance skills, music video production and broadcast media skills, and artist management. The major aim of the forum is to bring UK and NZ talent together to promote the sharing of ideas and to provide unique and inspirational learning and creative opportunities for New Zealand artists. With an exciting range of presentations, events will include the deconstruction of the various disciplines within the music industry. A highlight promises to be the examination of two New Zealand songs recorded and produced by Greg Haver especially for this event. Resonate 2003 provides a programme that embraces both artistic excellence and unparalleled professional development for the New Zealand music industry. It is an exciting, fresh series of discussions and debates for the professional and punter alike. With a bevy of some of Britain's finest minds, this is an event not be missed.
