INTERNATIONAL MARKETING:
Funding for Record Companies towards the costs of releasing and promoting a New Zealand album internationally.

Funding of up to $50,000 / project to match an investment of at least $50,000 from the Record Company. Annual budget up to $200,000 - four projects at up to $50,000 each.

Criteria:
-The artist's airplay track record in NZ - the artist must have at least four commercial radio hits to their name.
-The artist's sale track record in NZ.
-Release committments in at least two overseas territories or one major market.
-A convincing marketing plan.

Closing Dates:
17 January
7 March
16 May
11 July
12 September
7 November

ALBUM RECORDING PROJECTS:
Funding for Record Companies towards the costs of recording and releasing an album by a New Zealand band with proven commercial radio airplay credentials.

Funding of up to $50,000 / project to match at least $50,000 from the Record Company. Annual budget of up to $700,000 - at least 14 projects at up to $50,000 each.

Criteria:
-The artist's airplay track record at commercial radio - the artist must have at least two commercial radio hits to their name.
-Potential to yield at least four more commercial radio hits.
-A convincing recording and marketing plan, including a release deal.

Closing Dates:
17 January
7 March
16 May
11 July
12 September
7 November

NEW ARTIST RECORDING PROJECTS:
Funding to help with the costs of recording a single for radio.

Funding of $5,000 / project. Annual budget of up to $300,000 - up to 60 projects and $5,000 each.

Critertia:
-Potential for commercial radio airplay.

Closing Dates:
Note: 4 funding rounds, not 6

MUSIC VIDEOS:
Funding for Record Companies to help with the costs of producing a music video.

Funding of $5,000 / project with the balance of the funding coming from the record company. Annual budget of $550,000 - 110 projects at $5,000 each.

Criteria:
-New Zealand music.
-Airplay potential.

Closing Dates:
17 January
7 March
16 May
11 July
12 September
7 November

HIT DISCS:
NZ On Air produces five series of New Zealand music hit discs for radio. They are:

-Kiwi Hit Disc (commercial music - 6 issues a year)
-Kiwi Gold Disc (classic hits)
-Indie Hit Disc (Heatseekers - alternative music - 4 issues a year)
-Iwi Hit Disc (Maori language and Kaupapa - 4 issues a year)
-A/C Hit Disc (Adult contemporary repertoire)

The discs are sent to every radio station in the country.

Criteria:
-New Zealand music.
-Airplay potential.

Closing Dates:
There are no set closing dates.

RADIO HITS:
Funding to Record Companies to recover the costs of recording and releasing songs that pick up significant airplay on commercial radio.

Funding of up to $5,000 / project. Annual budget of $150,000 - 30 projects at $5,000 each.

Criteria:
-New Zealand music.
-Significant airplay on commercial radio - measured by analysing quarterly airplay logs supplied by 140+ commercial radio stations.
-Note that songs that have already been funded via the Phase Four Albums or New Recording Artist tiers are not also eligible for Radio Hits funding.

Closing Dates:
There are no set closing dates. Decisions four times a year are based on March, June, September and December quarter airplay logs.
