Another knock for Palmerston North Posted: Thu May 11, 2006 11:01 am It is not turning out to be a good NZ Music Month First, Paul Martin (from the Axe Attack fame) has closed his 6 Ft Under Bar in Hamilton. Then, The D4 announced they were breaking up. And now this from punkas.com... Palmerston North's finest retail music store, Mango Music, is to close in late July. The store has been a lone and ardent supporter of both local and national independent music, stocking local releases on consignment (with zero mark-up!) as well as a strong genre section. The store has also been host to in-store performances from a big number of bands, including the likes of This Night Creeps, The Bleeders and many, many more. Those bands who do have consignment stock currently on Mango shelves - please get in touch with the store as soon as possible... |

RE: Another knock for Palmerston North Posted: Thu May 11, 2006 12:27 pm When the Rabble were on the road, we'd stop off in Palmerston North just to visit Mango Music. Their range of music was a lot better than anywhere else in New Zealand. I have friends who would also stop off in Palmerston North to visit Mango music when their band was on tour. We won't have any need to stop next time |

RE: Another knock for Palmerston North Posted: Tue May 16, 2006 1:45 pm What a shame the Rabble won't be coming to town anymore... Sux for Mango, probably one of the best record stores in the land! |
