- The World Battle of the Bands announces that the time has come for bands to enter the 2006 competition.

- This international event is the world’s hottest competition for unsigned acts where bands battle it out in a series of heats, semi-finals, regional finals and a national final where one representative from each country is chosen to compete in the international arena at the World Final.

- In 2006, competitions will be held in eight countries. This is a competition organized by musicians and music lovers for musicians. The aim is to seek out the most astounding new live music the world has to offer.

- 2005 saw around 400 bands, performing in 30 venues, almost 200 shows, in six countries…

- The World Battle of the Bands 2006 now features some of the biggest cities in the Asia Pacific Rim. Super cities such as Hong Kong, Singapore and Manila are now joined by Beijing and Taipei.

- One of North Americas most iconic city, New York, will also be joining in the competition.

- Battles which continue to get better every year in New Zealand, Australia and LA will no doubt supply some stiff competition again this year.

- Each country’s winning band gets a trip to Hong Kong to compete in the World Finals including airfares and 5 star accommodation. Other prizes include the chance to win recording contracts, studio time in New Zealand and Hong Kong and other destinations, concert slots, musical equipment and much more.

- Full dates can be found on the muzic.net.nz gig guide - There are a couple of regions still awaiting confirmation from venues of dates… these regions are Waikato, Manuwatu, & Taranaki… Heats WILL be held there once dates are confirmed.
