In 2003 17 Australian and New Zealand acts played the massive South By Southwest Music Conference and Festival in Austin Texas. In 2004 up to double that number will be invited. Applications to perform at the 2004 SXSW are now open so get along to sxsw.com and follow the instructions. Early applications close October 6th. Late applications close November 7. Since 1987 South by Southwest (SXSW) Music Conference and Festival has been bringing musicians, record company executives, club owners, radio programmers, journalists, publicists and countless other people working in the music industry together. Over one thousand showcasing artists and solo acts from around the globe perform on 50 stages over the course of five nights, March 17 - 21, 2004 in Austin, Texas. Applications to perform at this extraordinary event are now being accepted.

In 2004, up to 30 Australian and New Zealand artists will be invited to play showcase performances at the event. As was the case in 2003, the New Zealand government and Music Industry Commission plan to support our artists and business attendees with a stand and live performance promotion.
