Adam and I have had a bit of a break from muzic.net.nz over Christmas and now we're back to give you even more NZ music than we have ever given you before!

Over the next year (as previously promised) there will be heaps of changes happening on the site - and it's all for the better. If all goes according to plan 2004 will be the year where new features are added, more information is made available and more of everything is displayed on muzic.net.nz and in 2005 we will be completing work on a brand new muzic.net.nz website!

If you have any suggestions - anything you would like to see more of on here - anything at all, let us know either by contacting us on our contact page or replying to this forum. We've already taken in all your previous suggestions and will be incorporating those into many of the changes we have lined up, but would like to know if you have any other suggestions for muzic.net.nz....

Great to hear the site's developing further. It's already pretty wonderful.

How about a Faves item in the menu bar, and the ability to customise it by adding pages with a right-click? There are places I habitually go, and some of them are a level or two or three deep. Just a thought if it's not too difficult.

And have you thought about streaming NZ audio with Shoutcast?

Sorry, half my brain's still in the playground with my youngest.

Even if you only streamed tracks artists could give you clearance for (unsigned acts, in other words), it would be awesome. If you wanted to go that way I could write you a plugin that would pre- or post- announce them from the MP3 tags using the MS Speech SDK.

This would be so awesome - and a great promo tool here and overseas.

Streaming audio is a cool idea, and can be achieved - the only thing holding us back is cost. International data costs a fortune!

It does cost. Sigh.

But it's not utterly enormous.

Possibly what's needed is to put together and tout a sponsorship package. Visual adds or credits on the site, audio adds or credits in the stream.

Or maybe there's a single corporate who would be keen to host this because it knits in tightly with their marketing strategy. Perhaps a well presented and exclusive word to one of our major telcos, even. Especially if you went in with a recommendation from NZ On Air to say "this is a good idea".

But you probably have higher priorities. Time! Where does it all go ...

it should be easier to customise band information.

like once you are logged on you can edit stuff in your bands profile as well.
one cool thing would be like a photo album for each registered band, so they can easily just upload their photos of gigs etc for people to view.
