IMPORTANT: Changes to forums Posted: Sun Mar 14, 2004 10:58 am We have just a made a few major changes to the forums, adding in a lot of advanced features. Text Formatting You can now apply bold, underline, italics and colours to text. Emoticons You can now use these: and a whole lot more URLs and Images You can now include URLs and images in posts. If you've used phpBB before (this is used on a whole heap of other sites) you'll notice some similarities. |

RE: IMPORTANT: Changes to forums Posted: Sat Mar 20, 2004 9:44 am Here's a quick run-down on how to use these forums for those of you that have never used them before. If you want to make something bold, italics, underline, quoted etc - you can either push the button that corresponds to it at the top of the forum, type your text, then push the button again when you want the bold etc to end - or you can type the text you want formatted, select it and push the button to format it. If you want to colour your text write the text you want coloured, select it and then select the colour you want it to be from the drop down menu. If you want to make something a link, same rule applies as with making something bold etc (push the button, type the link and push the button again) - however, if you want your link to look like this: hello - you can push the url button, delete the ] and type = then your website address, at the end of your website address put the ] back in. Then you can type the name of your website etc, then push the url button to end the link. Unfortunatley you cannot link to email addresses. And finally, if you want to add a picture the picture must be on a website somewhere. Click the Img button, type the url to the page the picture is on and then press the Img button again. It's better if you find the picture you want to add, right mouse click on it and select properties, copy the URL displayed in properties - paste this URL into your web address bar, and press enter. This will give you the page with the picture on it, and nothing else. For example: Any more questions, reply to this post! |
