Ara Tipu is a new distribution label, but one with a difference. It has been created to distribute music from new and emerging artists to the countries local and national radio networks, as well as A & R departments of major distribution labels.

Ara Tipu produces radio discs similar to NZ On Air's Hit Discs for new and emerging artists; the selections to the program are based on talent instead of track record.

Ara Tipu uses a program called Artist Share in order to keep costs down for the artists. Instead of one artist having to cover total cost of distribution, each artist is allocated a share - around $60.00.

Ara Tipu is not government funded which means that the artist must pay for the service. Artist Share helps to keep promotions affordable. Ara Tipu also provides a listing on the Ara Tipu web site as a bonus.

Ara Tipu cannot guarantee airplay, but do guarantee that music is delivered to radio for airplay; they can't play it if they haven't got it. Full program details are available at Ara Tipu
