1) PACIFIC SONGWRITING COMPETITION

$25,000 in cash prizes - and based in NZ!

The New Zealand based Pacific Songwriting Competition seeks excellence in expression. The competition is sponsored by Deborah Wai Kapohe, an opera singer with a passion for original music and those who create it. The cash prizes todal $25,000 and 2 iPods are to be given away on the 500th and 1000th entry. The competition is open to all nations, genres and both amateur and professional songwriters.

Online artistic support is available twice a week at varying times of the day.

2) NEW OPEN MIC NIGHT

Starts this Thursday and hosted by the fantastic and lovely Chelle who used to host the open mic nights @ The Temple.

@ The Blue Zebra right next to Brix Cafe and Bar on K'Rd - just along from Brazil.

Every Thursday starting 10 June @ 8pm.

3) GET A $3,000 TOP UP FOR VIDEO PRODUCTION

If you have received NZ on Air video funding by producing your video in Wellington.

Have you been approved by NZ On Air for funding to help with the costs of producing a music video?

If you produce your video in the Wellington region, Positively Wellington Business, the economic development agency for the Wellington region, is offering $1,500 in cash and the equivalent of $1,500 in services to record companies that have already been approved for funding by NZ On Air.

6) PERFORMANCES WANTED

For gold coin lunch time shows at the College of Education, Epsom Avenue, Mt Eden, Auckland

Wednesday Lunchtimes - 12:15pm to 12:45pm (half hour sessions)
for June 9, 16 and 23 and 28 July to 15 September

11 performances to fill in the Owen Gilmour Theatre between N Block and TRC (a converted lecture theatre with lighting, a smallish floor - probably carpet on concrete and tiered seating above the stage)

Any of the arts - comedy, film makers, visual arts, music, dance and drama, cultural performances, hi brow, hip-hop and rap.
