MIKE WANCHIC Mike started his career in the music industry working as an apprentice engineer at a recording studio in Bloomington, Indiana. A visit by John Mellencamp in1976 to record some demo’s resulted in Mike sitting in on a session which would later become John Mellencamp’s first record. Mike has been playing in the Mellencamp band full time since 1978 and is also the band leader and co producer of many of John’s records. As a producer Mike resides at Echo Park studios located in Bloomington, Indiana which he co-owns with business partner Mark Hood. Echo Park is a full service recording facility and has been operating for 14 years. Recent records done at Echo Park include the largest selling record in America "How to save a Life" by The Fray, Howie Day, Son Volt, and recent Epic Records Signees Vedera. Hundreds of other records, pop, classical, jazz, folk, country, all genres have been recorded @ Echo Park as well. A list of some of the projects Mike has been involved is below. In addition to his career as a producer Mike is also the Vice President of Digonex a company that dynamically prices music according to supply and demand in an effort to capture greater potential revenue during periods of high demand and stimulate sales during periods of low demand. In the US Digonex are presently working with Warners and Nettwerk Records, and beginning pilots with EMI, UMG, UMG UK, MySpace Records, NAXOS and independent distributor the Orchard. They are also currently in discussion with the largest promoters in the US regarding the dynamic pricing of concert tickets.
