Applications for WOMEX and AWME are now being accepted

The World Music Expo 09 (WOMEX)and the 2009 Australasian World Music Expo (AWME) are the two major world music expos currently targeted by Creative New Zealand under our International Strategy.

WOMEX will be held in Copenhagen from 28 October - 1 November 2009. Creative New Zealand, in partnership with the New Zealand Music Commission, will be supporting a co-ordinated New Zealand presence.

AWME will be held in Melbourne from 19-22 November 2009. Creative New Zealand, in partnership with AWME, will be supporting a co-ordinated New Zealand presence.

Independent producers can apply for a subsidy to attend as a delegate.
Professional musicians and bands can apply to be part of AWME's performance showcase programme, which will present up to four acts from New Zealand.

Professional musicians and bands can apply to be included on an Aotearoa New Zealand sampler CD which the delegation at WOMEX and AWME will use to promote music from New Zealand.

To be considered for WOMEX or AWME, music must have a distinctively New Zealand quality, be of a very high standard and appropriate for the market. To be considered for a showcase, artists must have toured extensively in New Zealand. Applications and attached materials must be received by Creative New Zealand in Wellington by 5pm on 19 June, 2009.
