Thames, New Zealand, Labour Weekend October 23 – 25, 2009

“This weekend is destined to become one of the major annual events on the New Zealand Music Calendar, with the primary aim to create huge opportunities and a high level of media exposure for local musicians and bands.” Totally Thames President Lance Strong

This event is for members of any business, organization, or corporation who would like to put a band together and enjoy the fun of entertaining and showing off their collective talents.

It’s a great team building opportunity for your whole organization. Everyone can get involved as supporters, dancers, or even props and costume makers. It will be a total-package, social outing, morale building, fun, festival weekend activity for your whole team.

A Television Documentary is also being made of this event which will assure a high level of media profile for our primary sponsors.

Over the course of the weekend the bands will compete in the heats on Saturday, with the 8 finalists playing on Sunday, followed by a huge celebration party on the Sunday evening where winners and finalists will entertain along with Guest Artists.

Celebrity Judges will award the overall NZ Corporate Battle of the Bands Winner, as well as category awards for Best Rock Band, Best Blues Band, Best Pop Band, Best Rock n Roll Band, Best Stage Show, and Fan’s Choice Award. Individual awards also include Best Vocalist, Best Guitarist, Best Bass Player, Best Drummer.

Prizes include a 7 Day Recording Session with a Professional Producer and a Sound Engineer, at a premium New Zealand Recording Studio, valued at over $10,000.

“In the coming years, as the event develops, our ultimate aim is to send the winning band to the USA to compete in the Fortune 500 Corporate Battle of the Bands, at the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio.”
