Music Industry News Posted: Wed Feb 9, 2005 8:19 pm Music industry news is a regular forum feature here on muzic.net.nz, and is created by Karen Temple, who amongst other things, was the owner for the premier live NZ music venue of its time The Temple. If you are somehow involved in the music industry, I recommend that you read this forum. There are lots of useful things here, including people looking for bands to join, radio stations and events looking for performers and music workshops. 1. Performing Artists Workshops Date: Saturday 12 February 2005 Venue: ST Colombus Centre @ 40 Vermont Street, Ponsonby. Price: This workshop is free to Musicians Union and Comedy Guild members, however non members are welcome for a cost of $40. This workshop will cover how to get free stuff, entertainment law, festivals and much much more. The cost for joining the musicians union is $182.00 per year, or $15.17 per month. They offer free contracts, taxation advice, musical instrument insurance and many other things that assist musicians in their working life. Young Talent Wanted National Radio is looking for young aspiring musicians and bands from Timaru, Invercargill and Whangarei for live-to-airs. All genres wanted. Must live & perform locally. National Radio is especially interested in musicians or bands who are planning on releasing an album or EP during 2005.
