RE: Breaks Co-op on Tour Posted: Tue Jun 7, 2005 7:17 pm Here's the tour press release: Thoughts of a national tour are all the more sweet when you are a long way from home and members of Goldenhorse look forward to returning from the UK for their first major theatre tour. “This is our most extensive tour of New Zealand and getting out to people who have never seen the band before is something we value highly. I’m excited.” says Geoff Maddock from London. “ We have two albums worth of material to play from, even some new songs. It will be a bigger show and a slightly larger band. So yeah…can’t wait”. Moving into theatres for the tour has certainly captured the imagination of Kirsten Morelle who says “Finally Goldenhorse is going to be able to play in the venues that most suit the band. Like an old NZ railway line these theatres need to be used and enjoyed by locals in their own town.” She is already living the routing : “…and when we reach Wellington I’ll meet up with family…passing through Oamaru is the best because we all can indulge in the best pies in NZ, organic lamb pies in the old worldy area…then taking togs for the hot springs” For special guests Breaks Co-Op, the search is on for the musicians who will help translate their songs in a live setting. Vocalist and guitarist Andy Lovegrove, and Hamish Clark who provides the electronic layer, will shortly put together a ‘co-operative’ for their debut tour. (Third member Zane Lowe misses out due to work commitments with radio 1 in the UK) They have travelled from a studio project, with hip-hop roots,to a song-based, platinum-selling album – some journey! Hamilton - Thurs July 28 @ Community Theatre Auckland - Fri July 29 @ Bruce Mason Theatre Manukau - Mon Aug 1 @ Genesis Energy Theatre Napier - Thurs Aug 4 @ Municipal Theatre Tauranga - Sat Aug 6 @ Holy Trinity Whangarei - Mon Aug 8 @ Capt Bougainville New Plymouth - Thurs Aug 11 @ TSB Showplace Palmerston North - Fri Aug 12 @ Regent on Broadway Wellington - Sat Aug 13 @ Opera House Nelson - Sun Aug 14 @ School of Music Blenheim - Tues Aug 16 @ Marlborough Centre Christchurch - Thurs Aug 18 @ Theatre Royal Dunedin - Fri Aug 19 @ Regent Theatre Invercargill - Sat Aug 20 @ Southland Stadium Queenstown - Sun Aug 21 @ War Memorial Hall Tickets on sale June 13 from Ticketek and usual outlets. |
