Melbourne act The Go Set are a unique Australian band. They combine the influences of such bands as The Pogues, with bagpipes, 70's Clash-esque

punk rock, and a distinctly Australian political and social perspective. The Go Set have been likened to everything from early Midnight Oil, to The Clash, Radio Birdman, The Pogues, or the Dropkick Murphys.

The Go Set recently released their debut album "Sing a song of Revolution" through Laughing Outlaw in Sydney, and have spent three months on the road around Australia promoting the new release. The album was recorded with Living End and Jon Spencer Blues Explosion producer Lindsay Gravina in Melbourne, and was essentially recorded live.

"Take classic Bon Scott era AC/DC, the celtism, social conscience and political voice of Roaring Jack and the bagpipe punk fury of The Real McKenzies along with 20 cans of Fosters and you'll get an idea of what The Go Set sound like. "Sing a Song of Revolution" was recorded in just two days, so its raw, loud, and powerful in its integrity. "

In the last year, Triple J radio in Australia, as well as the CMJ College Radio network in the USA and Canada have picked up and playlisted several tracks from the album. The band has also spent the past year touring relentlessly aroud Australia both on its own, as well as with the likes of The Stranglers (UK), Royal Crown Revue, Tiger Army, The Turbo ACs, Real McKenzies, and Pulley (USA), and performing at several major summer festivals.

The band hits New Zealand to promote the new album for the first time this September.
