KORN THE SUPERTOP MAY 1 2006

It seems like a long time between drinks since metal fans could lay claim to one big show of their own.

Sure, there have been special moments such as the Metallica tour or the Slayer & Machine Head team-up. Big Day Out probably came closest with System Of A Down and Slipknot on the same bill in ‘04. But our little Pacific Paradise has NEVER witnessed anything like this before…

The full line up is duly revealed:

BLINDSPOTT These guys are staunch, committed and have un-compromising attitude to live performance. Blindspott has set out on an assault course to win hearts and minds over with their trademark heavy rock sounds. They have rewritten the “heavy” record books with their debut self-titled album (2002) achieving one of the highest ship-out & pre-order figures ever seen from a local band, beating legends Nirvana and Foo Fighters to the coveted #1 position in the New Zealand charts. With a new album set to hit the streets around the time of the gig Blindspott will deliver a set aimed at turning an unsuspecting audience into cannon fodder.

8 FOOT SATIVA One of our most fearsome live acts which jack hammered out of the wild west end of Auckland in 1998, 8 Foot Sativa have surprisingly become the most requested local act on rock radio in New Zealand. Their sound is brutal. Their live show overpowering. They will explode onto the Supertop stage determined to out thunder the bill.

DAWN OF AZAZEL With Metal fans already salivating and counting their pennies, one the hottest newcomers to heavy music DOA will be given the honour of opening proceedings for KORN and completing this die to be part of night. Having already made a serious name for themselves with their all conquering live performances this is definitely THE act to get you off your arse and into the arena early.
