Avenged Sevenfold Date Change
Posted: Wed Aug 16, 2006 12:09 pm
Please note there has been a last minute change in the schedule for punk/metal rockers, Avenged Sevenfold. They will now be playing Auckland one night later on Wednesday August 23rd at The Powerstation.

All tickets already sold are of course valid the following night. If for some reason ticket holders are unable to attend on the new date we ask them to go back to point of purchase for a refund.

Please help us get this message out as there are kids coming up from all
around the country for this and we don't want them to be disappointed.

-Yours in rock.

Hang on to your piercings people; this is one show that will be blowing more than your cobwebs off!

Still only in their mid twenties Avenged Sevenfold have shared stages Metallica, System Of A Down and Ozzy Osbourne; have on tour antics to rival
most in the Motley Crue biography; named their band after a story in the bible and have released their 3rd album, 'City Of Evil'.

These Huntington Beachers; are 7 years into their career and yet still only in their mid twenties. They have shared stages with kings of metal Metallica, System Of A Down and Ozzy Osbourne and kings of punk, Bad Religion, Rancid and NOFX.

The band's name is an alleged reference to the book of Genesis in the Bible and the story of Cain and Abel, where Cain is punished to live in exile, alone and miserable. Anyone who relieved Cain of his misery by killing him would be "avenged sevenfold," or punished in a way that is seven times worse than Cain's punishment.

A7X (As they are affectionately known to their worldwide legion of fans) shun the label 'metalcore', staking their claim firmly in 'metal'.

Their fans have discovered them via their earlier records and the highly popular video games Need For Speed: Most Wanted & Burnout Revenge, on which some of their songs have appeared.

Avenged Sevenfold's latest album, 'City Of Evil', is their third installment. The new single 'Seize The Day' is starting to burn its way into NZ radio and the powerful story driven video creeping on to TV playlists.

Fans of Iron Maiden, Pantera and Metallica will be slammed with the stone solid chords and scalding vocal assaults. Fans of Rancid, Bad Religion and Death By Stereo will buzz at the deliberate frenetic rhythm and bursts of hardcore fury. Hang on to your piercings people - this is one show that will be blowing more than your cobwebs off!

"One of the most musically daring albums I've laid my ears on, 'City Of Evil' bursts at the seams with great melody and hooks, stunning musicianship and a fluid use of dynamics and imagery that belies the bands relative youth; Classy, very classy. Original and contemporary, these guys will be bloody huge! - the Axeman (NZ Metal Guru)
