Surprise R&V release in Auckland and Wellington Posted: Wed Dec 13, 2006 10:09 am WOULD-BE partygoers in Auckland and Wellington …. this is your chance to see in 2007 in the best place possible – Rhythm & Vines. The hottest New Zealand New Year festival is releasing 500 harvest general admission tickets at $148 in Auckland and Wellington through Real Groovy from midday Friday. Organisers expect the tickets to go within the hour. There are also a handful of special reserve tickets available through Ticketmaster for $238, which come with the pampering you deserve - Tapas, cocktails, primo views of both stages and all in rather comfortable surroundings. Founding director Hamish Pinkham says this festival promises to be the best in its four-year history with a line up including Shapeshifter, Spektrum, Katchafire, Kora, Blackbird, Mylo DJ and Crazy P (live) – to name just a few. Fifteen thousand revelers, musicians and crews will greet the new rays of 2007 in Gisborne, the first city in the world to see the sun. Rhythm & Vines is set in a spectacular venue that rivals the music on offer. Waiohika Estate, on the outskirts of Gisborne city, is a natural amphitheatre overlooking sprawling vineyards, the fertile Poverty Bay flats, and out over Young Nick’s Head in the bay. Gates open at 10am on December 31 with music starting at midday with hot Kiwi act returning from the UK, Connan and the Mockasins and runs through until midday on January 1, 2007. Check out the website - www.rhythmandvines.co.nz - for more information about the only place see in New Year. |
