Heating up May (New Zealand Music Month!) like a saucepan of Wattie’s Spaghetti, is Palmerston North’s own music festival, SwampFest. Now in its fourth year, SwampFest ‘07 will be a weeklong celebration of original music in Palmerston North.

SwampFest ‘07 is coordinated by Creative Sounds, AKA the Stomach, and all local, original bands and musicians are invited to indicate their interest in taking part. Application forms are available at The Stomach, Mango Music and online at www.creativesounds.org.nz Completed forms must be returned by March 31st and can be emailed to [email protected], posted to PO BOX 586 or dropped off at the Stomach, 76 Lombard St.

Along with three, All Ages shows at the Globe Theatre, SwampFest ‘07 will for the first time feature: a solo artist night; a hip hop and electronic artists night and a rock n roll Swap Meet. Leading up to the shows will be a series of workshops and seminars with topics currently being finalised.

SwampFest ‘07 is a non-profit festival shamelessly promoting the wealth of talent in Palmerston North. Co-ordinated by Creative Sounds AKA the Stomach, and with generous support from local businesses, volunteers and the musicians themselves.
