James Morrison cancels Auckland show

British crooner James Morrison has cancelled tomorrow night's performance in Auckland after falling sick with a throat infection during his Australian tour.

In a press release issued this morning, The Frontier Touring Company said Morrison was "devastated" by the cancellation.

"After cancelling his show in Melbourne last Tuesday due to a severe case of laryngitis, James bravely soldiered through two Sydney concerts," it said.

"At the conclusion of his last Sydney show, James had an emergency meeting with a throat specialist and was strongly advised against continuing his tour."

Morrison was due to perform a one-off show at Auckland's St James on Tuesday night.

The Frontier Touring Company said Morrison hoped to return to Australia and New Zealand "in the near future to repay his fans for their understanding".

Morrison's single You Give Me Something was a New Zealand No. 1, and his album Undiscovered was a big seller.
