Hell Yeah Venue Change
Posted: Mon Jun 25, 2007 4:46 pm
Please be advised that this Wednesdays’ Hell Yeah concert has now been moved to The Studio on Karangahape Road. All tickets will remain valid for the new venue.

It would have taken something truly special to lure Damageplan and Pantera legend Vinnie Paul Abbott back on the road. And it came in the shape of HELLYEAH, one of metal’s most exciting collaborations featuring Mudvayne’s creative force – vocalist Chad Gray and guitarist Greg Tribbet – Damageplan’s Bob Zilla and Nothingface’s Tom Maxwell.

It all began with a drunken night in New Orleans between Mudvayne and Nothingface and culminated a few years later with a 14 minute and 38 second phone conversation between Gray and Abbott. That’s how vivid Gray’s recollection is of their first conversation! “I was timing it! The toughest part of this band was making the phone call when I was told Vinnie wanted to talk to me about joining the band. I was so nervous I was almost dry-heaving. Once we connected and all gathered in Dallas, however, the jitters were gone and it was pretty magical.”

Armed with an album oozing with heavy grooves, memorable guitar riffs, pounding drums and a uniquely Southern influence; HELLYEAH are gearing up for a visit to Australasia before taking on the main stage at the Download Festival at Donnington Park and the 30-city Family Values tour with Korn and Trivium.

Subtract get the gigs by putting out quality albums. And by being based in Auckland.

I quite like a few Hellyeah songs but wouldnt go all the way to auckland to see them.
