ScragFest 2007 Posted: Sun Aug 12, 2007 6:23 pm Auckland’s GALLOPING HOOVES OF THE APOCALYPSE (GHOTA) and Wellington’s SKAFACE CLAW is returning to the South Island this winter for SCRAGFEST 2007. This twelve show tour commences in Wellington on Friday 24 August and concludes aboard the Interislander ferry Aratere on Monday 3 September. Support for the tour is Nelson’s outrageous CHERNOBYL KID (of BLISTERING TONGUES infamy). SCRAGFEST 2007 follows on from both band’s joint tour of South Island winter spots in October 2006 and is envisioned to become an annual event prospectively adding in the North Island and Stewart Island in 2008. For this tourney both bands will play lounge versions of each others tunes on ferry crossings, battle song-for-song at near spastic intensity during in-store sets and live-to-air’s, and host private functions in the countryside near Motueka and Waitati. Highlights of SCRAGFEST 2007 will include shows in the ski-season centres of Wanaka and Queenstown. Both bands look forward to a huge show at home-town of Dunedin on 31 August. SKAFACE CLAW V. Vitali – Bass/Vocals Hank Nicholson III – Guitar Hoffaloff Verhoff– Drums Toddy ‘Dog’ Bokser – Sax Paddy Poultrygeist - Organ SkaFace Claw released their debut album The Goblin Church of Seacliff on Dunedin’s Rebel High Records in 2007. Completely self-produced, it showcases their raucous and uniquely groovy scrag-up of surf punk and ska-billy punk, which always provides the punters with a party. The band includes ex-members of RITALIN, CHRISTPUNCHER, and STINKY 69. Further information and MP3’s can be found at http://skaface.rebelhigh.org GALLOPING HOOVES OF THE APOCALYPSE Nigel Cellars – Bass/Vocals Huge Harlow – Guitar/Vocals Kriss Dee – Guitar/Vocals The Animal – Drums GHOTA include ex-members of DRUNK UNCLE, STINKY 69, RITALIN, FLAK, and THE BLOODY SOULS.
