The Brunettes Posted: Wed Nov 21, 2007 5:03 pm The Brunettes return home for one Auckland show in December. That's right. Three months on the global tour road and the Brunettes have clocked up more than just gig miles! An 8 page spread in sassy New York magazine, BUST. The modest Kiwi musical duo of Heather Mansfield and Jonathan Bree have slid seamlessly onto the pages of a U.S. pop culture magazine known for it's hip, humourous and honest editorial. Further adventures in Paris found the ever stylish Brunettes in front of the lens of celebrity photographer, Kevin Abosch. Better known for his portraits of Johnny Depp, Gwyneth Paltrow, Cameron Diaz, and his debut movie, Panda, Mr Abosch is a fan of the band and has produced some amazing photos that we hope we can share soon. The NZ student radio awards, The BNets, held last Friday honoured the band with the esteemed "Outstanding Achievement Award". A timely pointer to the fabulous progress this unique band have made over the past year and a half. Signed by inarguably the coolest record label on the planet, Sub Pop, for the U.S., U.K., Europe and Japan. The band have made a stunning album 'Structure & Cosmetics' that earned an 8 star review from U.K's music bible, NME; gained over 250'000 hits on youtube for first video 'Her Hairagami Set' and played successful shows around the world! In advance of their arrival home the band will be sending the new video for their second single, B.A.B.Y.. The party song off the latest album has proven to be an alternative radio hit in New Zealand hand picked by the radio stations themselves. This eye candy video will be seen on NZ TV in the next few weeks so everyone can learn the arm movements in time for the show! Get your tickets now! Saturday 15th, December - Kings' Arms Auckland with Voom and The Conjurers Tickets on sale now from Real Groovy |
