Daniel Munro and Chanelle Davis on tour Posted: Sat Dec 8, 2007 4:13 pm Chanelle Davis and Daniel Munro collected first and second placing in the New Zealand Songwriters Trust Awards in May. Now they are taking their winning style of music on an epic tour of New Zealand, from Auckland to Queenstown in 31 days. Daniel and Chanelle met at the NZ Songwriters Trust Awards evening in Gore and decided to plan a Summer Tour after discovering their musical styles were complementary. The tour winds up a successful year. Chanelle had 3 songs as top ten finalists in the 2007 New Zealand Songwriters Awards, which she won with ‘Dear John’. Another of her songs ‘Alight’ was placed 2nd in the pop/ballard section of the 2007 Pacific Song Writing Awards. She performed live on TV One’s Good Morning Show, Classic Hits, More FM, and recently at the Quantas Media Awards. Daniel’s year kicked off with a support stint for Eric Clapton at Napier’s Mission Concert, followed by support roles for The Feelers and Goodnight Nurse, Don McGlashan and Sam Hunt. He has had interviews and performances on National Radio, Classic Hits, Holmes Breakfast, Viva, More FM and TV One’s Good Morning show. In June Daniel received a grant from NZ on Air to make a radio recording and music video of his song ‘Journal’. Chanelles album ‘Better than Alone’ and Daniel’s ‘Psychoanalyse’ were released by ODE records earlier this year . The tour ‘kicks off’ on Dec 14, 2007 in Wellington, and winds up in Queenstown, Jan 13, 2008, not far from its origin. Daniel and Chanelle’s winning musical styles will be on show at 21 venues throughout New Zealand, including mainstage at the popular Mount Maunganui New Year’’s Eve Celebration.
