TANGENT
The sound of multicultural Aotearoa

Tangent is a one of a kind band, hailing from Auckland City, Aotearoa.

Tangent's music defies categorisation, hence the name – they are always off on one! But one thing is for sure, they play cool music you can dance to.

As well as a great sound, Tangent has a social conscience. They aim to send a message of peace and unity to the world. The creed they live by is, "Throw out all the bullsh*t, meaningless hatreds and prejudices. Let's try to get along and have fun."

Members of the band come from a variety of cultural backgrounds: Maori, Croat, Serbian, Irish, English and Scottish, but they play together as kiwis. Kia Kaha!

Members of Tangent also play in well known bands such as Batucada Sound Machine, One Million Dollars, The House of Shem, dDub and The Shades.

You can listen to Tangent on www.myspace.com/tangentweb

One thing is certain: you are sure to fall in love with the funk flava of Tangent!

"It was great to have Tangent a part of the 2007 Pohutukawa Festival. They got the crowd up and performed a great set that was enjoyed by young and old. And a great bunch of people too!!"
- Jo-Anne Inancsi Festival organiser
