JAMES BLUNT ANNOUNCES TOUR OF AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND

James Blunt charmed Australian and New Zealand fans on his maiden tour Down Under in 2006, selling out every single show. James returned to our shores in 2007 for a one-off performance in Sydney – which again sold out - and those before him were left smitten, begging for his return. And in 2008, everyone’s prayers will be answered when James Blunt returns to Australia and New Zealand this April and May.

Playing his largest shows Down Under to date, James will return to Auckland, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, and for the first time ever will headline shows in Wellington, Canberra and Perth.

James shot to worldwide prominence following the release of his debut album Back To Bedlam in 2005. Achieving what few artists are able to after releasing just one album, Back To Bedlam hit #1 in countless countries, awards and nominations for James began to mount up.

Spawning the hit singles ‘You’re Beautiful’ and ‘Goodbye My Lover’ James Blunt became a household name as they became the anthems of 2006. Australian and New Zealand fans answered the James Blunt call, proving to be the most devoted in his following. Back To Bedlam sold in excess of 650 000 copies in Australia and New Zealand, spending a combined total of 24 weeks at #1 on the ARIA and RIANZ album charts.

James Blunt’s phenomenal success was continued with the release of 2007’s acclaimed All The Lost Souls (Warner Music). Q Magazine declared the album “a fearsomely efficient follow-up to Back To Bedlam” while the Los Angeles Times warned “he’s onto something. He’s not making background music.”

All Music Guide gave high praise: “It will seduce anybody already won over by his 2005 debut, "Back to Bedlam," since it's a tighter, more assured record than that. But chances are, they were seduced by Blunt already.” And The Sun named All The Lost Souls’ cover art as the “best in years”.

Peaking at #1 in 19 different countries, All The Lost Souls has notched up platinum sales in both countries. Without a doubt, James Blunt’s achievements will continue to grow in 2008.

With a history of selling out tours the world over – and notably selling out every past show to date in Australia and New Zealand – tickets to see James Blunt perform live this April and May will not last long. If you’ve seen James live before, you’ll understand it is an experience to be repeated many times over. If you missed James last time, don’t make the same mistake twice.
