Die! Die! Die! Posted: Wed Apr 23, 2008 3:49 pm So if you don’t have a ticket to the Homegrown Festival, your only other opportunity is an Anzac Day all-ages bash at Auckland’s Ellen Melville Hall... " (Andrew Wilson) is like Bono at Live Aid but with a better haircut and better tunes. On this evidence Die! Die! Die! might be the future of rock and toll and they're most definitely as good as it gets in the present" (Artrocker) Since Die! Die! Die! left New Zealand a mere 7 weeks ago they have played more than 40 shows in 3 countries; released their Shayne Carter produced Promises Promises album to critical acclaim in both Hemispheres; They’ve sold out shows in New York and Sydney; They been on the cover of prestigious magazines like the USA’s CMJ music monthly and Australia’s infamous Beat and Inpress.. Since the second week of March they’ve been through much of the United States, including staking a claim as one of The hot bands of the significant South By South West; They’ve blown away audiences and critics alike in the UK, including NME who have touted them 'The band to watch'; while these past 10 days in Australia – which included media highlights like co-hosting on the influential Triple J station - has seen such an amazing response the Australians are beginning to claim the band as their own. But they’re not – they’re ours – and we have Die! Die! Die! back momentarily before they head off back to America to tour with Von Bondies, then for an extended stint in the UK and Europe as Festival season begins (something DDD has been invited to be part of – Glastonbury anyone?). So for now, this is it New Zealand.... miss management, www.cheeseontoast.co.nz & 95bfm present Die! Die! Die! with DHDFDs and Moron Says What?!?! Friday April 25th NO AGE RESTRICTIONS – GROWN-UPS WELCOME Tickets from Real Groovy Please note playing times - this is an early show: 7pm - doors 7.30pm - Moron Says What 8.15pm - The DHDFDs 9pm - Die! Die! Die! Groupie magazine – Album Review ***** “Insanely amazing second album from New Zealandish post hardcore punk band Die Die Die. Never ending energy, heartbreakingly angsty vocals and hazy dirty guitar noise. Kings of the postmillennial punk scene. All hail the kings” Zoo Magazine – Album Review **** “One band paving the way is this lot, and they’re in killer form on this second LP. Whirring guitars have meaningful intercourse with manly but catchy choruses, and stellar tracks of mosh-iciting madness.” 3D Magazine – Album Review 9/10 “Better than anything else you’ll here right now…it’s actually therapeutic listening to an original band in this age…simple…stunning. PLEASE make more music like this.” Fasterlouder – Album Of The Week!!! “There appears to be a New Zealand revolution taking place with the rest of the world finally beginning to realise that some very talented people can be found in the land of the Long White Cloud, such as punk rockers Die! Die! Die!” |
