OPSHOP in Greymouth Posted: Mon May 26, 2008 10:10 pm Little Town, Big Gig. Greymouth has been chosen from hundreds of entries to host the official closing gig of New Zealand Music Month. Kiwi rockers Opshop will headline a free concert at the town's Regent Theatre this Friday. The West Coast town was chosen after careful consideration by New Zealand Music Month organisers, Telecom representatives and band members, as part of the Little Town, Big Gig competition. The competition aims to bring music month to heartland New Zealand. Opshop's Jason Kerrison said the band was excited about the gig,. "We wanted to play there as part of our upcoming national tour, but unfortunately it didn't work.'' The show is an all-ages gig. Tickets are available from the Regent Theatre foyer from 4pm, this Wednesday and doors open at 7pm this Friday. |
