Flip Grater Farewell Gig Posted: Wed Oct 1, 2008 12:28 pm Flip Grater’s latest album Be All And End All was released on Maiden Records in July and has received wide critical acclaim and rave reviews since. As a result, the album went straight to number 8 on the independent music chart, Flip was featured on the cover of Sunday Magazine on September 7th with a 4 page profile article, and she will be featured in a musician series in Pulp Magazine’s summer issue. With one book (2007’s The Cookbook Tour- Travels in NZ Food and Music) and two albums now under her belt, Flip is taking her brand of alt-country/ indie-folk offshore. The Cookbook Tour Europe is a 16-date tour through 7 countries over 2 months. Flip will play solo shows across Europe while collecting recipes from the people she meets and writing about her experiences for her second book – The Cookbook Tour Europe, due to be published in 2009. Check out the tour blog at www.flipgrater.com or at www.nzmusician.co.nz Flip will be playing a farewell show at Dux De Lux in Christchurch on Oct 17th with support from The Eastern. 9pm $10 on the door. “Her music is special” – Grant Smithies, Sunday Magazine “Pay attention” – Matthew Crawley, www.cheeseontoast.co.nz |
