Transmission Room
PRESENTS

QUIRK

09s Zany Night of Indie Mayhem!

$10 All Ages & R18 @ The Transmission Room AK 28TH March 09

Prepare yourselves for the largest Indie lineup to hit Auckland this year!

Transmission Room are proud to announce the eleven band showcasing show of 09!

This months Line up includes:

Alphabethead
Alphabethead is insane. Somehow Alphabethead managers to mash together two totally unrelated musical pieces into something fresh and compelling. Once he is done with his records Alphabethead smashes his vinyl into tiny bits. This guy is not just a DJ he is an entertainer of the highest caliber.

Calamity Jam
Having released their debut EP "Make Your Mind Up", Calamity Jam have generated an incredible buzz! Think White Stripes-style blues-rock / British Post-Punk Revival scene with some Arctic Monkeys and The Libertines thrown in for good measure. 2009 looks to be the year that will propel them even further into the NZ music charts.

The Randoms
Described as blues ridden, dirty rock and roll, have been ever present in the Auckland music scene in the past year, having played with bands as far and wide as Battle Circus, White Birds and Lemons. Having been crowned the best Auckland Central has to offer by winning the smokefree rockquest in 2007, the group has accomplished much for such a young group of performers.

Kitty Hawk
Kitty Hawk has plenty of onstage charisma to match the kick "assedness" of their playing. Definitely a band to watch this year and it won't be long before they follow in the footsteps of Die Die Die, The Checks and The Mintchicks and head over to the UK for a spot at the Buffalo Bar.

Sherpa
Sherpa is a three-piece alt rock band that plays years above their age. Forging 90s grunge with punk rock ethics these talented youths kick some serious ass. Sherpa have recently been signed to Bored House Wife Publicity and with the strength of this added promotion these guys will surely shine in 09.

Turning Tricks
Formally known as "THE DON'T TOUCH ME THERES". This two-piece is dramatic and explosive. Turning Tricks play a vibrant mish mash of electronic pop and punk rock. This combination of genres will have you cutting shapes on the d-floor with vigor.

But that's not all….

Also joining the lineup is:

God Bows to Math
Boyfriend
Nevernudes
Pop Strangers
IFK
The Sneaks

If you want to see this show, then you must get to the venue early. Promoters expect this show to fill up before 7pm– Event is All Ages and R18. Doors @ 5pm.

YOU WILL NOT SEE A MORE EXPLOSIVE LINEUP OF THIS SIZE THIS YEAR FOR ONLY $10!!
